Import your logs

Log Lens reads your log files and groups recurring events into issues. There are three ways to get logs in.

Option A - drop files in and process

Put log files in the application's logs/ directory (a first-level subfolder becomes a module, e.g. logs/billing/laravel.log to Billing), then either:

  • click Process logs in the dashboard header, or
  • call the API: POST /?api=import-incoming.

Processed files are moved to the processed/ archive automatically.

Option B - import specific paths (CLI)

Streams the files in place without moving them:

# Standalone
php bin/import.php /path/to/laravel.log /path/to/more/logs

# Laravel
php artisan log-lens:import storage/logs

Option C - pull from a server automatically

Use a connector to mirror logs from a local directory or a remote SSH host on a schedule. See Sync logs from a remote server.

Which severities get indexed?

By default only ERROR and WARNING. Enable more under Settings to Ingestion (or PUT /?api=ingestion-settings), then re-import. Supported logs: Laravel, Horizon, nginx access, and generic console formats.
